Learn how to make this zero waste jacket by using your body measurements to create your pattern.
For a truly unique heirloom jacket, bring along your pre-sewn patchwork top that needs to be at least 2 X 2 metres squared.
as well as wadding and backing to the same measurements. You can also 'sandwich and quilt' it a head of time but don't bind it.
Alternatively bring along a already made quilted bedthrow / blanket that is at least 2X2 metre square or larger if wanting it longer.
within the workshop you will-

Learn how to draft and stitch this made to measure Dog Coat. The coat features adjustable straps around the front and under belly. You can also add a little pocket (optional)
Using my 'you sized' method, you will take a few measurement from your four legged friend, to then transform those measurements into a bespoke Dog Coat,
So it doesn't matter what size your dog is, your pattern will fit.
Basic sewing kit and sewing machine will be required. (if you require a machine please just ask)

Seasons in Stitch - Sashiko

A new course for 2024, you can book onto both sessions or just the one.
Inspired by the changing seasons this course will introduce you to the simplistic beauty of sashiko stitching and it's hidden meanings, messages and history.
Each session will focus on three design elements;
Seasonal Motif Design
Moyozashi Sashiko Pattern (patterned sashiko)
Hitomezashi Sashiko Pattern (one stitch sashiko)
The designs can be incorporated into one larger piece or a series of small pieces. The stitches can also be used to repair or decorate garments.

Happy Pants , lounge/PJ set - Draft and Stitch Workshop

This project really shows that my 'You Sized' Ethos has no limits with this fun workshop!
Come and make what Ayia (my 4yr old daughter) and I call our 'Happy pants'!
A simple two piece lounge/ PJ set consisting of a top and trousers that can be made for all the family; making it a great project for Christmas. (we even made a set for Ayia's Baby Doll)
Within the workshop you will -
*draft out a top and trouser pattern using a few basic body measurements. (if making for someone else who is not attending the class, details of what measurements are required will be provided a head of time)
* construct one set of happy pants using a sewing machine.
*learn sewing with stretch techniques
3 to 4 metres of fabric for adult or 1 to 2 metres for a child (light weight stretch fabric) contrast binding is optional.

Join Jenniffer Taylor for this totally totes- bag making workshop. A perfect workshop for those of you who have created your own hand printed and dyed fabrics and what to use them in a project. Or if you simple just want to make a bag that is one of a kind -This workshop is for you!
Learn how to create a wadded and lined bag that of course has pockets! (zipped pocket/ patch pocket optional - finished size approx h40*w40*d10cm ) Why not bring along an old pair of denim jeans to add an upcycled element?
For this workshop you will need:
- approx 2 meters of fabric (this cover the outer, lining, pockets, straps - fabric can be patchworked if desired or left whole)
- basic sewing kit and sewing machine
- 1/2 mtr of fusible wadding and 1/2 meter of medium interfacing (wadding and interfacing packs can be purchased on the day from the tutor)
- 12inch / 30 cm zip

Wrap Trouser workshop - Girl With a Sewing Machine

Get summer ready and join Sewing Author Jenniffer Taylor with the ‘you size’ wrap trouser workshop.
‘Easily one of my favourite makes from my first book - Girl with a sewing machine. They can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion and they are fully adjustable!’
Learn how to:
*create a made to measure garment using a few body measurements
*Construct your wrap trousers using a sewing machine
*basic fitting techniques
*basic fitting techniques
*sew a button hole with a sewing machine
Your will need to bring:
3 mtrs of fabric (linen or lightweight polyester mix) or a bed sheet if you are wanting to make a toile first
A button and snap fastener and matching thread.
Sewing machines are available but feel free to bring your own.
